Online properties can be a great resource for small businesses to utilize but can often be hard to learn the website builder. With this project, the current Base Camp Door County website was refreshed and brought to life with an online store, product descriptions, and a mobile version with an online ordering menu.

As one of the firm’s first clients, Base Camp Door County’s second project was revitalizing the french cafe’s online hub of information to become more aesthetic and increase the user experience. The old website was easy to get lost within and hard to navigate. The client was looking for something more simple, elegant, and relatable to their brand.

Utilizing Base Camp’s branding guide, the color palette was brought into the website along with fonts. At first, the background was a simple white but after the first review, the owner wanted something that popped a bit more which lead to the current green. Featured at the top of the welcome page is a slideshow of images highlighting some of the offerings available to customers. Each image featured a different link to another location on the website such as the online menu or store. Followed by this slideshow was an array of seasonal offerings providing at a glance the type of fare provided similar to that of an Instagram feed. Lastly, the main categories of the online store meet the viewer at the bottom of the page making it easy to find, review, and purchase everything from merchandise to coffee or tea.

While this website is still live (www.basecampdoorcounty.com), there have been some changes since published by ZFMK Creative Firm. If you would like a view of the website before changes please reach out for PDF copies of the pages.
